Besides tectroridin, two components, one of which is novel, have now been isolated from n-butanol extract of the rhizome of Iris tectorum MAXIMOWICZ. The one (I), mp 210-214°, colorless microneedles, was idetntified as androsin (acetovanillon-β-D-glucoside). The other (II_A) C_<23>H_<24>O_<12>, mp 212-214°, was assumed to be 5,7,3'-trihydroxy-6,4'-dimethoxyisoflavone-7-β-D-glucoside. We proposed the names iristectorin A and iristectrorigenin A for the glycoside and its aglycone, respectively.
