• Two mutagenic compounds isolated from L-glutamic acid pyrolysate, 2-amino-6-methyldipyrido [1,2-a : 3', 2'-d] imidazol (Glu-P-1), and 2-aminodipyrido [1,2-a : 3'2'-d]-imidazole (Glu-P-2), were prepared from 3-amino-8-methylimidazo [1,2-a] pyridine and 3-aminoimidazo [1,2-a] pyridine, respectively.
