We have developed a dedicated erasing device for higher density Hard Disk Drive (HDD) which uses highly efficient permanent magnet matrix. This eraser magnet has achieved complete erasure of the servo pattern on the disk with no degradation of the spindle motor magnet. In this paper, we present the development method and experimental results of the disk eraser magnet matrix
