• In this paper, the experimental results on the relation between pressure, temperature and specific volume of steam are presented and discussed. And the second and the third virial coefficients were determined on the basis of our results. The equation of state of steam in the high temperature range obtained here is as follows, [numerical formula] where, P is pressure kg/m^2,v is speciflc volume m^3/kg, τ is reciprocal absolute temperature 1/°K, T=273.15+t is absolute temperature °K, t is temperature ℃, R is gas constant (=47.06 kgm/kg °K, B is the second virial coefficient m^3/kg and C is the third virial coefficient (m^3/kg)^2. Moreover, the equations of several thermodynamical properties of steam were established and calculated numerically, based on this equation of state.
