CHANGE IN LEUKOCYTE COUNT IN PERIPHERAL BLOOD OF NUDE MOUSE BEARING TRANSPLANTED GYNECOLOGICAL MALIGNANT TUMORS

婦人科領域の悪性腫瘍株細胞 (25株) を nude mouseに皮下移植し腫瘍の増大と, 末梢血白血球数と白血球分画の推移を検討し, 以下の結論を得た. (1) 24株が移植され, 白血球増加 (20,000/mm^3が見られたのは2株 (卵巣未分化癌と卵巣低分化明調細胞癌) であつた. (2) 腫瘍の増大と白血球の増加は正の相関を示した. 白血球分画では98%が顆粒球 (好中球)であつた. (3) 腫瘍の摘出により, 白血球数と白血球分画は元の正常値にもどつた. (4) 白血球増加の見られた担癌 mouseには癌の骨髄転移や炎症などは見られなかつた. さらに, 卵巣未分化癌細胞および卵巣低分化明調細胞癌細胞培養上清を添加した軟寒天培地で mouseおよびヒトの骨髄細胞を培養したところ白血球の colonyが見られ, 98%が顆粒球(好中球)であつた. 以上の結果から, 担癌 mouseに見られた著明な顆粒球増加は癌細胞が産生している granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF)によるものと解釈される.
