We report detailed normal state rneasurernents of the resistivity, magnetic susceptibility andsrecific heat of hiuh-czualitv sinule crvstals of SrzRuO,x, the onlv correr-free, lavered t>erovskitestuperconductor (T. t 1 K), It is intriguing that despite its very strong anisotropy (the ratio ofthe inter[ayer to in-plane resistivity exceeds 500) arising front the essentially two-dimensionalFermi surface, the normal state properties are consistent with a universal description for astrongly correlated Fermi liquid. Therefore, SrzRuO.a serves as an ideal reference rnaterial forthe investigation of the limits of applicability of Fermi liqttid theory to other highly correlatedlayered compounds, including high-T. cuprates.
