Evidence for Unconventional Superconductivity of Sr_2RuO_4 from Specific-Heat Measurements

We zneasured the specific heat of single crystals of non-cuprate layered perovskite stupercondtrctor Sr3RuO,j. The crystals with difl'erent T. up to 1.2K exhibit a large residual electroniccoefficient '7g, which decreases systematically with increasing T.. This behavior is consistentwith the presence of nodes in the supercondtrcting gap and with the variations of T. due to pairbreaking by itnpurities and defects. To quantitatively account for the observed large ')o, however,we need to introdtrce additional naechanisraa.
