Thermodynamic Investigations of Ferroelastic Phase Transitions in K_2ZnCl_4 and K_2CoCl_4

Using the adiabatic calorimeter the heat capacity of K.ZnCl. and K.CoCl. crystalswas measured in temperature range 100-300 K. The entropy change for ferroelasticphase transition was estimated to be AS = 0.34 (Zn) and 0.33 (Co) J?mo1 '-K '.Theeffect of hydrostatic pressure on the phase transition was investigated for bothcrystals.[KzZnC1., K.CoC1., heat capacity, hydrostatic pressure, ferroelectricity, fer- l[ roelasticity, (NH.),SO. family ferroelectrics, Rb.ZnCI. group ferroelectrics {
