A new numerical method for solving an integral equationF(k)P(k)=I" dk'K(k, k'; co)P(k')to obtain eigenvalues co and the corresponding eigenfunctions P(k) is proposed.The kernel of the integrand K(k, k", co) is a complex function with respect tok, k' and has no particular symmetries. 'the method is based upon Newton'siterative method and gives high efficiency in numerical analyses. As an examplethe problem of the drift wave in a sheared magnetic field is presented.
