Direct Simulation Scheme Derived from the Boltzmann Equation. II. Multicomponent Gas Mixtures

The stochastic law that describes the collision process in a simulation cell wasderived for a multicomponent gas mixture from the Boltzmann equation for aspatially uniform gas. It is shown that the law fo?' the gas mixture takes a formanalogous to and consistent with that for a monocomponent gas. A few testcalculations show that the results obtained by usingg the present simulation schemeagree well with the exact solutions of the momernt equations of the Boltzmannequation.
