Anontalous spectral densities near threshold for soft X-ray enaission andabsorption in metals due to the effect of the hole potential are ca]c.ulated withthe use of the generalized power law (GPL) found by Mjzuno, Is.hikawa and0h?vaura and shown graphically. A formula of spectral densities jn the presenceof the gradjent to the transition density of states (TDOS) is proposed on the basisof GPL. The result illustrates absencce of the anonaaly in K absorptiot? spectra onLi in agreement with tlae observation by Petersen, The result is in fair agreementwith that of experiuatents analyzed by Nedderm.eyer in which the sanae exponentis obtained for L entission and absorption spectra of Mg and Al alth<cugh TDOSis quite different for enc.ission and absorption.
