Simultaneous measurement of the conductivity o and thermoelectric power Shas been made for liqttid Hg and 0.5 and 2.0 at % Cd amalgams in the temperaturerange 20-]600'C and t'he pressure range ]-1700 bar. The vapour pressure curvesand the critical points for Hg and dilute Cd amalgams have been determined fromthe measurements of o. The vapour pressure curve remarkably shifted withaddition of Cd. The critical point for 0.5 at % Cd amalgam was estimated to be at]50082O'C and 1680:l:20 bar. Near the critical r>oint S for Hn abrur>tl>' chansedfrom a large negative to near zero. With addition of Cd to Hg o and S increased.The observed large differences of o and S between l-Ig and Cd amalgams at hightemperatures are discussed.
