Fluctuations of the DC Josephson Current in a Superconductor-Normal Conductor-Superconductor Junction

We study mesoscopic fluctuations of the dc Josephson effect in a superconductor-dirty normal conductor-superconductor junction using the Green function method. Our theoretical approach is valid if the pair potential is considerably higher than the Thouless correlation energy. The effects of temperature and sample geometry are taken into account. The calculated result is in fairly good agreement with that of the recent experiment by Takayanagi et al.
