Influence of Small-Angle Diffraction on the Ballistic Conductanse Fluctuations in Chaotic Billiards

The ballistic conductance flucttmations (CF) in chaotic billiards are studied trsing an extendedsezniclassical approximation. We show that the effect of small-angle diffraction (SAD) on classicalelectron paths is essential for describing the ballistic CF. By incorporating the SAD effect, wefind that both the diffuson and cooperon processes equally contribtmte to the variance of thetransrnission coefficient T, in contrast to the restxlt by Jalabert et at. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 65 (1990)2442] in which only the difftuson process appears. Otrr restrlt indicates that, in the presence ofa magnetic field, the variance of T decreases precisely by a factor of two dtre to the sensitivesuppression of the cooperon contribution. We also determine the ftull magnetic-field correlationfunction of T.
