In a separate report'Hasegawa et al.1995), we investigated the distribution of cations in four paddy rice genotypes when the K supply to the plants was decreased. We conducted a similar type of experiment for two leafy crops, komatsuna and sugar beet, and observed responses which were considerably different from those of the rice plants. In this report, the distribution of the cations in the tissues of komatsuna and sugar beet plants will also be analyzed.
