By means of an explicit one loop computation we show that stochastic quantization, without a kernel, of a massive spin 1/2 field coupled to a boson field via Yukawa coupling requires a new kind of counter term. The presence of this counter term corresponds to introducing a second order fictitious time derivative term in the stochastic action equation for the bosonic field. This conclusion can be bypassed by introducing a suitable kernel in the Langevin equation for the fermion.
