Renormalization of φ^4 Theory in SQM with a Kernel : Particles and Fields

In this paper we investigate the renormalization of φ^4 theory with two choices of kernel in stochastic quantization, using operator formalism of Namiki and Yamanaka. For the first choice of kernel we show that the structure of the counter terms is the same as the unrenormalized stochastic action. For a second choice of kernel, new counterterms are required if we demand ultra-violet finiteness of the five dimensional theory suggested by the operator formalism. However, there does exist a choice of counter terms such that the Euclidean Green functions, as computed from the stochastic theory, can be computed and are free of ultra-violet divergences.
