Absorbed Two-compnent Model for Low Mass Nπ System Produced in Diffraction Dissociation

A low mass N_π enhancement in the diffractive process _πN→_π(N_π) is studied in the framework of an absorptive two-component model that consists of the pion exchange Drell-Hiida-Deck amplitude corrected by the final state interaction as a background term and of a direct resonance production amplitude. The absorption is introduced as unitarity corrections and given by _πN elastic scattering. Comparison of model predictions with the data at 16 GeV/c is performed and it is shown that there are rough correspondences between calculated quantities and the data.
