A Regge Pole Scheme Including Baryonium Trajectories and Hadronic Total Cross Sections

A Regge pole scheme is examined to fit hadronic total cross sections below an effective antibaryon-baryon production threshold, where the leading isosinglet baryonium Regge poles with both charge conjugation parities, denoted by fℬ and ωℬ, are introduced in addition to Pomeron, ρ and A_2 as the conventional q^^-q Regge poles. The (q^^-q)ω intercept does not need to be near 0.5, and instead the intercepts of fℬ and ωℬ are to be near 0.5. The total cross sections are shown to be fairly well reproduced and to recover some shortcomings of the Pomeron-fidentity scheme with the q^^-q meson sector alone.
