A contaminant transport model is developed to predict the ground environmental contamination. The model is capable of simulating the seepage of the contaminated solutions in shallow ground and subsequent groundwater contamination in a continuos mannar. For the shallow ground contamination, the one-dimensional solute transport equation with adsorption and decomposition of chemicals is employed; and for the aquifer contamination, the finite element method is used based on the two-dimensional plane flow condition. Appropriate fluxes of contaminants are applied on the boundaries of each layer. A simulation example showed a good reappearance of the entire profile of the ground environmental contamination with less computational effort.
