In this paper, we propose a new type of passive mechanical damper, tuned roller damper (TRD). The damper consists of the rotary mass and the container to make the mass rotate in it. Two different TRD are set on the two-story shear model-building. One is tuned for the first mode of the building and the other for the second mode of it. The effectiveness of the proposed devise, when the structure is under free vibration is examined.
