The paper describes the dynamic characteristics of load cells. Dynamic response of load cell is investigated performing the impact tests of stepped rods and the numerical simulations by means of multiple reflection theory. From this study, it is seen that 1) when the dynamic load is of one tenth of frequency as much as a natural frequency of the load cell, surcharged load is underestimated by seven percent; 2) the out put value from load cell is largely affected by the impedances of setting medium, loading body, and load cell.
