The inhibitions by vanadate on Na^+, K^+-ATPase and K^+-dependent p-nitrophenylphosphatase were almost perfectly reversed by adrenaline and BAL, but were not reversed by EDTA, EGTA, o-phenanthroline and NaCN which are known to reverse the inhibition by PMS+VC. The reversing effects of adrenaline and BAL were found when drugs were added in the preincubation mixture at first or on true way, The reversibility or the inhibitory action of vanadate was also demonstrated by dilution of preincubated enzyme reaction mixture. The results were argued on the relation of the vanadate inhibition to the inhibition by phenazine methosulfate and VC.
