Thin films of poly[2-methoxy, 5-(2’-ethylhexyl-oxy)-p-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV): C60 are coated on bare glass plates by the doctor blade technique using chloroform as a solvent for a composition of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 and 1:5 (by weight%) of MEH-PPV: C60. The dark and photo conductivities are measured at 6.7 mPa pressure from 158 K to 473 K. The activation energies for conduction of the thin films for both under dark and under illumination are evaluated. The device prospects of the as-grown thin films are realized by fabricating solar cells which are studied for efficiency, intensity variation, open circuit and short circuit conditions as a function of increase of C60 composition.
