Emission spectra of CS2, NO, N2O, and NO2 in the region240-650nm and their excitation cross section curves(excitation functions)were obtained under low energy electron impact(2-25eV)at a gas pressure of 10<SUP>-6</SUP>-10<SUP>-5</SUP>Torr. The excitation functions obtained were for the following processes:(1)CS2→CS2<SUP>*</SUP>, (2)NO→NO(A)<SUP>*</SUP>, (3)N2O→N2(C<SUP>3</SUP>IIu)+O, (4)N2O→N2O<SUP>+*</SUP>+e<SUP>-</SUP>, (5)NO2→NO2<SUP>*</SUP>, (6)NO2→NO(A and/or B)+O. The lowest emission state of<SUP>3</SUP>∑<SUP>+</SUP>u besides the <SUP>3</SUP>A2 state for CS2 was observed in the region400-600nm. The excitation function for NO2 supported the existence of the two emission states(the doublet and quartet states)in the region 400-600 nm. Some resonant peaks were found in the excitation functions for CS2, NO, and NO2. The apparent features of the curves for the process(4)were consistent with the threshold law.
