Chlorine dioxide (ClO2), which is a stable free radical, decayed in supercooled and glassy liquid 3-methylhexane (3MHX) and 3-methylpentane near their glass transition temperatures (<I>T</I>g's). The decay of ClO2, however, was not observed in toluene or 2-methyl-1-propanol. The kinetic analysis of the decay of ClO2 in 3MHX is reasonably explained by its diffusional motion and dimer formation. The diffusion constants of ClO2 in 3MHX at temperatures around <I>T</I>g were estimated in the analysis.
