• Three kinds of <I>S</I>-bridged trinuclear complexes, <I>Δ</I><SUB>LLL</SUB><I>Δ</I><SUB>LLL</SUB>-[Co<SUB>3</SUB>(L-cys-<I>N</I>,<I>S</I>)<SUB>6</SUB>]<SUP>3−</SUP>, <I>Δ</I><SUB>LLL</SUB><I>Δ</I>- and <I>Δ</I><SUB>LLL</SUB><I>Λ</I>-[Co<SUB>3</SUB>(L-cys-<I>N</I>,<I>S</I>)<SUB>3</SUB>(aet)<SUB>3</SUB>]<SUP>0</SUP>, and [Co<SUB>3</SUB>(aet)<SUB>6</SUB>]<SUP>3+</SUP>, were formed by the reaction of a mixture of <I>Δ</I><SUB>LLL</SUB>-<I>fac</I>-[Co(L-cys-<I>N</I>,<I>S</I>)<SUB>3</SUB>]<SUP>3−</SUP> (L-cys=L-cysteinate) and <I>fac</I>-[Co(aet)<SUB>3</SUB>] (aet=2-aminoethanethiolate) with [CoCl(NH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>5</SUB>]<SUP>2+</SUP>. The reaction with an excess amount of Co<SUP>2+</SUP> led to the formation of seven kinds of <I>S</I>-bridged complexes, [Co<SUB>3</SUB>(L-cys-<I>N</I>,<I>S</I>)<I><SUB>n</SUB></I>(aet)<SUB>6−<I>n</I></SUB>]<SUP>3−<I>n</I></SUP>](<I>n</I>=0–6).
