The Raman bands due to the totally symmetric ν(C–C)+ν(C–S) and ν(Co–S) modes of tris(dithiooxalato-<I>S</I>,<I>S</I>)cobaltate(III) exhibit resonance enhancements with excitation lines in the visible region. The resonance Raman excitation profiles of the two modes reveal the presence of a charge-transfer transition in the visible absorption spectrum of the complex.
