Ten 1-methyl-4-<I>t</I>-butyl-1-silacyclohexyl derivatives (C<SUB>10</SUB>H<SUB>21</SUB>Si–X, X=H, Cl, OCH(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>, OCH<SUB>3</SUB>, OC(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>6</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>, <I>p</I>-Br–C<SUB>6</SUB>H<SUB>4</SUB>, <I>p</I>-Cl–C<SUB>6</SUB>H<SUB>4</SUB>, Si(CH<SUB>3</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>H, F) were synthesized and separated into conformationally stable <I>cis</I> and <I>trans</I> isomers. The stereochemistry of these compounds has been determined on the basis of NMR and GLC. They were found to behave stereochemically like acyclic optically active silanes.
