Ischemic colitis with strong angulation of the descending colon. Report of a case with special reference to the formation of the angulation and torsion.

1)A case of ischemic colitis was reported, and the possible pathogenesis of the flexion and torsion that were obsered in the descending colon was examined.<BR>2)The tasche-like convex deformity was considered to be ascribable to poor longitudinal extension due to a scarred ulcerative lesion (UI I-II) along the teniae.<BR>3)The pathogenesis of the flexion and torsion was considered to involve obligue stretching linking these especially pooly extensible lesions, which were seen situated in alternate asymmetrical locations on teniae lines.<BR>4)Mesenteric disorder, circulatory disturbance of the marginal artery, teniae disturbance and the like were also considered to be responsible for this flexion and torsion.
