The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of fused dental porcelain on the phase transformation of zirconia. SiO_2, Al_2O_3, and commercial dental porcelain powder were pasted on zirconia disks with 10 mm diameter, and then sintered at 800 ℃, 1000 ℃, 1200 ℃, 1400 ℃, 1500 ℃, and 1600 ℃, respectively. For some selected sintering temperatures, XRD results showed that there was a phase transformation from T → M on the zirconia surface. The diffusion profile was also determined in this study.
