A Study on Generation and Break of Bridge at Different Material Contact Pairs

In order to clarify the effect of the material of the electrode on the bridge wave form and the bridge shape (length and diameter), the generation and break of bridge are discussed experimentally. To examine the generation and break of the bridge, the electrode materials of the anode and cathode are chosen as the same and different material pair in this experiment. The Ag and Pd are chosen as the electrode materials, because the Ag and Pd have the different thermal diffusivity. Firstly, the voltage wave forms in the bridge generation with different material pair are compared to the voltage with the same material pair case. Secondary, the effects of material pair on the break of bridge are discussed. In the results, it seems like that the characteristic of the bridge voltage depends on the material of the cathode electrode. The tendency of the characteristic of length and the diameter of the bridge is not similar to the tendency of the characteristic of the voltage wave form. This study provides the basic considerations on the generation and the break of the bridge.
