A Study on Heat Analysis for Breaking Contact with Low Velocity (Part 2) : Influence of Holder Structure on Temperature Rise of Electrode (Part 2)(Session 7 -Modeling-)

In this paper, some relationship between the holder structure and electrode surface temperature was studied to make clear heat problem in the contact electrodes by experiment and calculation. Typical time curse of contact voltage, electrical power at the contact point and temperature on the surface of electrode were measured simultaneously. And using the finite difference time domain method (FDTD), the time response of a constant temperature heat source was calculated and the influence of the holder structure is discussed. The relationship between the holder structure and the temperature rise calculated by FDTD was different from the experiment result. The reason for difference may be that the heat source and the duration were not constant in the experimental and calculation. Though precise comparison of the calculation and the experiment should be further work, it is demonstrated that the holder structure influence the temperature rise at the breaking contact.
