Measurement of Current Noise up to GHz from Slowly Breaking AgSnO_2 Contact with External Magnetic Field(Session 3 -Arc Interruption-)

In this paper, the current noise up to GHz from slowly breaking AgSnO_2 with external DC magnetic field was measured and discussed. Firstly, effect of external magnetic field on waveform of breaking arc was measured. Only duration of gaseous phase is influenced by external magnetic field. As the external magnetic field increases, duration of gaseous phase becomes shorter. Secondly, frequency spectrum and time-frequency domain characteristic of current noise are studied by comparison with and without external magnetic field. Although there is no remarkable difference for peak value of current noise between with and without external magnetic field, variation of contact voltage in the "B=40mT" case is higher than that of "without external magnetic field" case, which suggests that applying the external magnetic field may cause high frequency noise.
