In recent years, the request for miniaturization and reduction of weight of connectors to be mounted on automobile is getting stronger, making compatibility with connecting reliability more and more difficult. Especially, defective contact resulting from the so-called fretting corrosion, i.e. fine sliding at terminal contacts due to heat and vibrations unique to automobiles, is becoming a big problem. In our present study, we aimed at checking the influences of frequency characteristics of external factors such as heat and vibrations, and elucidating the phenomena produced at the contact point with the progress of fretting corrosion.
