Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis is a slowly-progressive illness. Since its exact etiopathogenesis is not yet elucidated, an optimum therapeutic regimen is not yet well-defined as well. We report a thirteen year-old girl with membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis type I presenting with asymptomatic hematuria and proteinuria as discovered by routine school urinalysis. With high-dose alternate-day steroid therapy, a good clinical (without any toxic side-effect of the drug) and histologic (as shown by three widely-spaced biopsies in a span of four years) response was observed.
