Raman Scattering Study of Boson Peaks in Cesium Borate Glass

The composition dependence of Raman spectra was measured to study the borate anomaly in cesium borate glass. The changes of structural groups were estimated by the internal vibrational bands. The boson peak of pure borate glass is well fitted only by the function deduced from the disorder-induced model, whereas that of cesium borate glass cannot be fitted in the same manner. This strongly suggests that the disorder induced-model cannot be applied to the binary system which contains many types of structural groups.
