An apparent seasonal change in the cold-lability of pyruvate orthophosphate Dickens was observed in Panicum maximum that suggests a climatic change in the amount of the factor(s) which protects the enzyme against cold-inactivation. This factor(s) was partially charactcrized as a large molecule(s) with a heat-labile moiety essential for its function.
