Differing sensitivity of pyruvate orthophosphate dikinase to low temperature in maize cultivars

Cold lability of pyruvate Pi dikinase was examined by incubating the enzyme at 0℃ using crude extracts obtained from 20 maize cultivars which exhibit different growth responses to climatic conditions in this country. The results provide evidence for a possible correlation between cold lability of the enzyme and the cultivars.
