Reaction of formaldoxime with hydrogen cyanide yields two compounds (I and II). I is a very unstable new member of the N-cyanoalkylhydroxylamine series, but II is a stable new compound. The structure of II was identified by Infrared and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectra, and the reaction scheme was proposed.
