Sixteen species of the mite family Phytoseiidae from Japan are treated in this paper. Amblyseiulella yaeyamana Ehara & Amano, sp. nov. is described from Taketomi Island. Redescription of Typhlodromina conspicua (Garman) is provided. Notes on the other species are given. Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) cantonensis Schicha (Ishigaki and Taketomi), Amblyseius (A.) tamatavensis Blommers (Ishigaki), Phytoseius (Dubininellus) hawaiiensis Prasad (Ishigaki and Taketomi), and T. conspicua (Nagano Pref., Honshu) are recorded for the first time in Japan.
