The family Phytoseiidae includes more than 1600 species described from the world. They show a world-wide distribution and 74 species were recorded in Japan. One of the significant importance of this family is that it includes many species with high predacious abilities on phytophagous mites. The phytophagous Acari, such as spider mites and eriophyid mites, are major pests throughout the world and their control by chemicals alone is becoming increasingly difficult, due to the development of resistance against various acaricides. The use of natural enemies is thus essential for any mite control programmes in future. Among many natural enemies, phytoseiid mites are considered as one of the most important group. The phytoseiid mites associated mainly with spider mites and eriophyid mites were collected in several areas in Chiba Pref. Mites were mounted in Hoyer's medium and supplied for identification. Following records are composed of species name, host plants on which specimens were collected, female specimens collected, collection date and collection site. In total, 2801 specimens of 16 species were collected and identified, and they were arranged in alphabetical order of species names, host plants and collection sites.
