The Space Technology Demonstration Research Center in JAXA has researched and developed 50〜100kg class small satellites. These small satellites demonstrate newly-developed components and devices in space as a pilot project. 50kg-class of spin stabilized satellite launched in December 2002 as a piggy back satellite on H-IIA rocket. The satellite is called MicroLabSat. It has successfully completed all the preplanned experiments and continued healthy operation until now. These facts prove that MicroLabSat project was successful.
