Two new compounds of 5-bromouridine, 3'-0- (β-D-galactopyranosyl) -5-bromouridine and 3'-O- [β-D-galactopyranosyl- (1→4) -β-D-galactopyranosyl] -5-bromouridine, were found to be selectively formed in a high yield in a culture filtrate of Sporobolomyces singularis, when grown on a medium containing lactose and 5-bromouridine.
