Possible Double Superconducting Transitions in UX_2Al_3(X=Pd, Ni)

The possibility of a superconducting double transition in the recently discoveredheavy Fermion materials UX.A1, (X=Pd, Ni) is examined tlaeoretically. It is foundtlaat the preexisting antiferromagnetic order breaks the symmetry to lift thedegeneracy of the pairing function for UPd.Al, leading to a d<>uble transition, wlaileit does not break for UNi.Al, when tlae spin-orbit coupling is strong. Thus no doubletransition is induced. We point out that tlte pressure or stress experiment may serve tocontrol the split transition temperatures,
