Is Spin Density Wave Always Harmful to Superconductivity? : T_c Enhancement Due to Density Wave Instabilities

It is shown theoretically that the superconducting transition temperature (T_c) can be enhanced by the presence of the spin density wave (SDW). By using a two dimensional imperfect neasting model we demonstrate that the SDW can raise T_c of anisotropic pairing states by an order of magnitude higher than that (T_<c0>) in the absence of the SDW, but it suppresses the isotropic singlet pairing state. Its implication is discussed in light of recent high T_c oxide superconductors.
