Properties of Localized Bound State and Impurity Band in Superconducting Magnetic Alloys

The change of the density of states of a superconductor due to a magnetic impurity is calculated taking into account the presence of the bound state. The method of the anomal-ous Green function, which was used to obtain the position of the bound state in a previous paper, is also used. It is shown that the bound state is represented by two delta functions. In the case of the finite concentration of impurities, the bound state is shown to have a finite width, forming the impurity band: The width becomes larger as the concentration in-creases, but we encounter an intermediate situation between the complete non-magnetic sys-tem and the complete magnetic one.
