The problem of nonlinear transverse spin relaxation is treated rigorously; ananalytic solution is obtained for J=1/l and .7=1 (J the magnitude of spin). Forlarger values of J, the basic equations are solved numerically. Poly-dispersivenature of the relaxation process is worked out in the linear-supreposition form ofexponential decays with a number of characteristic relaxation times. This numberis shown to be generally more than 2J, contrary to the longitudinal case.
