A rigorous solution is obtained for the nonlinear s,pin relaxation process irj thecase of J=3/2. The classical versus quantum mechar?ica] nature of the relaxationprocess is examineed by changing the magnitude of sp?in, J : A simple rule is foundfor an asymptotic behaviour with increasing J. The c:ombined effects of quantummechanics and nonlinearity appear at low temperanture and/or high magneticfield;
