• A general theory of spin relaxation in metals is developed : It is valid for anytemperature domain and also for arbitrary magnitude I of a relevant nuclear spin.A multiple-time relaxation process for I >l is completely determined on a micro-scopic ground. Though the multiple character of the relaxation process for the firstmoment reveals itself only at low temperatures and/or high magnetic field, it isessential for the fluctuations even at high temperature domain.At very low temperatures, the relaxation times saturate in contrast to behaviorsgiven by the Korringa relation and a new phenomenon "relaxation-time-max-imum" is found as a function of inverse temperature. A discussion is given tothe related experiments.Effects of spin wave excitations on the relaxation process are also discussed.
